The founding principle of Write Now is that creative
expression is best facilitated in a safe and compassionate environment.
Workshops, seminars, lectures , developmental editing and coaching
sessions are designed to enhance creativity and provide insights and
information in a supportive atmosphere that encourages creative expression.
Ellen Szabo, founder and director of Write Now,
earned her B.A. in English and American Literature and Languages from
Harvard College, and her M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology from Columbia
University Teacher’s College. She is a veteran writer, writing
coach, instructor, developmental editor and facilitator of creative
writing workshops. She is a freelance writer and a published author of flash
fiction, poetry and personal narratives. Ms. Szabo teaches the annual Creative
Writing for Social Work seminar at the University of Iowa School of
Social Work in the summer.
